Do you believe in an Aotearoa where all communities thrive, God’s creation is cherished, and the promises of Te Tiriti o Waitangi are honoured? So do we.
At Common Grace Aotearoa, we are a small organisation with a big heart and even bigger ambitions. We're a passionate community of people, rooted in faith, who believe that together, our small actions can create massive change. We're not just hoping for a better Aotearoa; we're actively building it.
Why Your Regular Support Matters
Imagine the steady rhythm of a beating heart – that's what regular donations are to Common Grace Aotearoa. They provide the stable, predictable foundation we need to:
Conduct vital research that provides evidence for effective advocacy.
Engage persistently with decision-makers and power brokers to shape policy for the common good.
Build powerful coalitions across diverse communities, amplifying our collective voice.
Create essential resources and host workshops that educate and empower thousands.
Nurture and train the next generation of justice advocates and leaders across Aotearoa.
Your consistent contribution, no matter the size, isn't just a donation; it's an investment in hope, in community, and in a just future for all of Aotearoa. It allows us to plan for the long term, knowing we have the resources to tackle complex issues and make a lasting difference.
Your Impact:
We hear you. You want to see tangible results from your generosity. That's exactly what we deliver.
Your regular support fuels our focused, evidence-based advocacy, catalysing shared values into real-world wins. Here's a glimpse of the difference we're making together:
Economic Justice: Lifting Up Voices, Ensuring Fairness
Protecting Kiwis from Unfair Fees: We successfully advocated for the scrapping of harmful disconnection and reconnection fees by New Zealand's largest electricity retailer, Contact Energy. This means relief for thousands of households every year.
Stronger Protections for Vulnerable Households: We helped secure new, mandatory rules for electricity companies, ensuring vital protections for those medically dependent on power and requiring that all fees are reasonable.
A Persistent Voice for Consumers: We continue to coordinate a powerful coalition, representing your voice to decision-makers and power companies, pushing for lasting change and fairness in our energy system..
Te Tiriti Justice: Honouring Our Partnership, Deepening Belonging
Mobilising Unprecedented Unity: When Te Tiriti was challenged, we helped lead the charge. Our open letter from church leaders opposing the Treaty Principles Bill garnered over 600 signatures and commanded major national media attention, showcasing a powerful, unified voice for justice and reconciliation.
Supporting Historic Movements: We fundraised $20,000 for the organisers of the historic Hīkoi mō Te Tiriti, and rallied churches across Aotearoa to offer manaakitanga (hospitality) to participants, demonstrating tangible support in a moment of national importance.
Equipping for Understanding: We provided comprehensive resources that helped over 160 churches make submissions on the Treaty Principles Bill, contributing to over 300,000 submissions with a staggering 90% opposition. We're also fostering deeper understanding through our 'Belonging in this Land' resource, completed by over 300 groups.
Climate Action: Protecting Our Home, Nurturing Advocates
Driving Policy Shifts: We mobilised nearly 1000 submissions on the Government's 2nd Emissions Reduction Plan, representing 53% of the total, pushing for an end to harmful practices like free carbon credits to big polluters. This advocacy is shifting the conversation and building cross-party support for a green industrial future and a just transition for workers.
Growing a Movement of Justice Advocates: Beyond campaigns, we're investing in people. We've mentored dozens of advocates, gathered over 70 people at our National Gathering for powerful teaching, and started discipleship groups, equipping a new generation of leaders rooted in faith and committed to action.
A few reasons to give monthly:

Increased impact: Monthly giving allows you to consistently contribute to Common Grace, and provide a stable funding stream that allows us to plan ahead for our campaigns.
