Facebook Community Guidelines
Welcome to Our Community
Kia ora and welcome! This page exists to share Common Grace Aotearoa's work for climate justice, economic justice, and Te Tiriti justice. We're grateful you're here.
We welcome supporters, allies, and those genuinely curious about our kaupapa (purpose). While you may not always agree with everything we share, we ask that you engage with respect and good faith.
Our Commitment to You
We're committed to:
Sharing our perspective on social justice issues through a Christian lens
Creating space for constructive dialogue and mutual learning
Responding thoughtfully to questions and concerns when capacity allows
Maintaining safety for all community members, especially those from marginalised communities
How to Engage Well
We invite you to:
Share Thoughtfully
Express your views with respect for the dignity of all people
Engage with the content we share rather than attacking the organisation or individuals
Ask genuine questions when you want to understand our position better
Share your own experiences that contribute meaningfully to the conversation
Communicate Constructively
Disagree graciously - robust dialogue is welcome when expressed with kindness
Use kind language even when discussing difficult topics
Stay on topic and engage with the actual content of posts
Assume good intentions in others unless clearly proven otherwise
Build Understanding
Share accurate information and cite credible sources when making factual claims
Acknowledge complexity in these important justice issues
Listen to learn from perspectives different to your own
Acknowledge the expertise of those with lived experience of injustice
Respect Boundaries
Honour the humanity of all people groups, including Palestinians, tangata whenua, and climate-affected communities
Recognise established facts from credible scientific and international bodies
Respect our kaupapa - this page exists to share CGA's perspective; persistent attempts to derail our mission aren't constructive
Engage in good faith rather than attempting to disrupt conversations
What Happens to Comments That Cross the Line?
This is Common Grace Aotearoa's page, and we maintain it as a space aligned with our values. Comments that don't meet these guidelines may be:
Hidden from public view
Deleted
Reported to Facebook if they violate platform policies
Repeated violations may result in being blocked from the page.
We're a small team without dedicated moderation resources, so we may not respond to every comment or explain every moderation decision. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping this a constructive space.
A Note on Disagreement
We absolutely welcome respectful disagreement with our positions. You can disagree with our stance on climate policy, our theological perspectives, or our advocacy approaches - as long as you do so respectfully and constructively.
What we cannot accommodate is:
Denying the humanity and rights of people groups
Spreading misinformation contradicting established scientific or historical fact
Using dismissive or dehumanising language
Coordinated efforts to disrupt our community
Questions?
If you have questions about these guidelines or a moderation decision, you're welcome to send us a private message. While we can't guarantee a response due to capacity constraints, we'll do our best.
